Would you like to work with well-established inspection technologies and hundreds of terabytes of data gathered over 20 years from around the world, using physics knowledge and analytics approaches to derive solutions for safety in the Oil and Gas industry?Partner with the bestAs a Lead Physicist Ultrasonics you will be responsible for researching and developing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technologies for pipeline inspection, including ultrasound, magnetics, and guided waves. Your primary focus will be leading the development of novel sensor technology, with hands-on involvement in simulation, testing, and prototyping.As a Lead Physicist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing commercialized pipeline inspection tools as well as designing and testing prototype systems.
  • Conducting simulations and advanced modeling of ultrasonic guided waves.
  • Supporting commercial operations by collaborating with business teams.
  • Provide Technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team in the development of new sensing technology.
  • Communicating project updates, metrics, and research findings to internal teams.
  • Leading in research on projects of moderate scale and complexity.
  • Conducting hands-on laboratory testing and reporting.
  • Interpret and apply relevant industry codes and standards in the characterization of sensors and associated measurement equipment.

Fuel your passionTo be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. A Master’s degree or PhD is an advantage.
  • Have at least 6 years experience in the field of non-destructive testing.
  • Display proven experience executing and delivering projects from concept to production.
  • Strong analytical skills, especially in applying data analysis to non-destructive testing and inspection, particularly in the field of ultrasonics.
  • Be acquainted with simulation and modeling “Finite Element Method (FEM)” preferred
  • Have outstanding problem-solving and technical capabilities, able to contribute effectively to multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Demonstrate technical of projects of moderate scale and complexity
  • Have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity.
  • Hands-on expertise in materials science, physics, and signal processing preferred
  • Experience in troubleshooting, reliability testing, and technical documentation preferred
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or Python preferred
  • Competence in NDE equipment, data acquisition systems, and signal processing preferred
