Salary: £34,048 per annum

We are looking for a dynamic, practical and hands-on individual to join our team as a Learning and Development Officer. You should have an interest in coordinating and implementing learning programmes for British Red Cross staff who work overseas.

As a Learning and Development Officer, you will use your skills to ensure that the annual learning programme continues to enable British Red Cross to support people in crisis.

This role has exciting and varied responsibilities working with a range of stakeholders in the Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement both nationally & internationally. You will maintain relationships with internal and external partners, including representing the British Red Cross at networking sessions, sector collaboration groups and you will ensure we maintain a strong partnership approach to learning across the Red Cross Movement and humanitarian sector.

A day in the life of a Learning and Development Officer:

You will plan and coordinate our exciting and varied training projects and learning programmes with a focus on the induction of the International Directorate staff in UK and overseas, in-person and remote simulation of emergency response, security and induction training for our emergency personnel to mention a few of our exciting courses.

You will ensure training events, residential simulations and online learning is impactful, targeted and effective.

Occasional travel will be required to UK Head Office in London, especially during busy training delivery times.

To be a successful Learning and Development Officer, you’ll need:

A broad understanding of Learning and Development (potentially through CIPD qualification or equivalent experience).
An understanding of simulation learning.
Knowledge of learning cycles, learning and development methodologies and solutions.
Experience of planning, developing and leading on Learning and Development interventions.
Knowledge of project management, drafting, and editing skills.
Initiative and ability to work independently when developing a project.
Excellent administration and organisational skills with great attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and providing data analysis.
To be flexible and have a hands on approach.

Weekend working may be required but you will be rewarded with time off in lieu (TOIL).
