Job SummaryA GOOD-rated school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.The school prides itself on fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential.Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support children across the curriculum, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional needs are met.
  • Develop resources and strategies to support students’ learning objectives.
  • Promote positive behaviour management and support children in building confidence and independence.
  • Liaise with parents, teachers, and other staff to provide updates on student progress.
  • Contribute to a safe and caring environment, adhering to safeguarding and child protection policies.

Qualifications and SkillsEssential:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
  • A good understanding of strategies for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting the welfare and development of all students.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting SEN students in a primary or secondary school setting.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
