Limited-Term Lecturer Positions

The Department of Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics , Irving K. Barber Faculty of Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Okanagan invites applications for two full-time Lecturers. The limited-term positions are expected to start on August 15, 2023, or soon thereafter.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in either Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field by the time of appointment. Applicants with all fields of expertise are encouraged to apply, but we are particularly interested in applicants with a demonstrated ability to teach courses in computer science, data science, and statistics at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Expertise in machine learning, predictive modeling, computational statistics, and modeling and simulation, as well as experience mentoring students in a capstone course is strongly desired.  There may also be opportunities to develop and teach upper-level courses in the candidate’s own area of specialization. While this is primarily a teaching position, lecturers are expected to participate fully in the affairs of their departments and may fulfill service obligations to the University and community.
