About usUCL Institute of Ophthalmology (IoO) invites application for a Non-clinical Lecturer.UCL Institute of Ophthalmology conducts cutting-edge research, attracting principal investigators, post-doctoral fellows and MD/PhD students of the highest international calibre to a stimulating research environment. The Institute is committed to a multi-disciplinary research portfolio that furthers an understanding of the eye and visual system linked with clinical investigations targeted to specific problems in the prevention and treatment of eye disease.About the roleSalary: UCL grade 8 (£51,474 – £60,698 per annum, including London Allowance)Duration: open-endedThe research focus for the lecturer role is expected to be complementary to the research strategy of the Institute of Ophthalmology and will be supported to develop collaborative research programmes in the field of vision and ophthalmic research.Specific areas of research interest will be developed by appointees within our four Research Themes, and may include fundamental ocular biology and vision science, visual neuroscience, the investigation of mechanisms of disease, the developing and aging eye, the application of informatics, machine learning/artificial intelligence, genomic medicine, development of novel models and therapies for eye diseases or innovative platforms applied to vision and ophthalmology.The post holder will be expected to make a substantial contribution to teaching, including leading the development of at least one new module closely related to the postholder’s expertise/research interests or developing a short course.About youApplicants should be on a trajectory to be an internationally leading investigator with a significant research profile through first/senior authorship of high-quality original research publications in refereed journals and demonstrate evidence of successful competitive grant funding awards.The postholder will be expected to attract funding from Research Council and charity sources to support their research program and build their research team.What we offerWorking with some of the greatest intellects in the world, UCL also offers a generous pension scheme and holiday allowance, plus closure and bank holidays as well as enhanced parental pay and more.
