Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:The Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Department of Psychiatry of The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), are seeking to recruit a Psychiatrist – Adult Neurodevelopment & Geriatric Psychiatry Division, to provide care and psychiatric consultation to geriatric patients over the age of 50. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate, or full Professor at the University of Toronto. Effective start date is July 1, 2025 or shortly thereafter.Duties include psychiatric consultation and follow up of outpatients, teaching and supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents, and participation in research and other academic activities. Extensive prior experience with an older adult population care is required. Additional duties and opportunities include outreach work to transitional care, long term care, and/or other community settings, and consultation-liaison for geriatric inpatients admitted to non-geriatric units of the hospital. Expertise in treating comorbid substance use disorders in the geriatric population is an asset for this position.The successful applicant must hold an MD degree, must be Board certified or Board Eligible in Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Specialty, and must be eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The position requires an individual who has additional training or equivalent experience as well as a record of excellence in scholarship. The successful candidate will have a strong record of relevant research accomplishment.Remuneration is in accordance with the compensation of a psychiatrist in the province of Ontario. Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $250,000 – $300,000 per annum, commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience.
