Offer DescriptionABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking an Operating Department Practitioner or a Registered Nurse (adult) with peri-operative and critical care experience, to join our successful and highly committed teams delivering high quality education to the ODP and critical care workforce both pre and post qualifying. Previous experience of teaching and leading is highly desirable and your application should detail your areas of clinical/teaching experience and expertise. Possession of a V300 non-medical prescribing qualification would be an advantage, as would a Master’s qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice.The Department provides high quality, research-rich education using a variety of innovative teaching and learning methods delivered at all academic levels from undergraduate to doctoral study. You will be expected to facilitate teaching, learning, and assessment, and engage in student support for our undergraduate ODP programme and other programmes where peri-operative and critical care expertise is required. Upon completion of probation objectives these colleagues are automatically moved into the Assistant Professor role. The post holder will work flexibly with the team to contribute to teaching, learning, assessment, and scholarship/research. They will participate in supervision, planning, designing and development of undergraduate and postgraduate health programmes in their relevant discipline. They will provide expertise to further enhance scholarship, research and entrepreneurial activities. This will include undertaking individual and collaborative scholarship/ research that demonstrates impact and involvement in external activities which will include academic enterprise.ABOUT YOUYou must possess excellent knowledge of the subject area and have active professional registration with the UK Nursing & Midwifery Council or Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). You must hold a Master’s degree in a related area and/ or be qualified to Doctoral level (for Lecturer/Assistant Professor posts).Applicants for the Lecturer/Assistant Professor role should hold a doctoral qualification and have demonstrable specialist expert knowledge and subject expertise in a relevant subject discipline.Experience of designing, delivering, assessing, and evaluating high quality teaching and learning practice as well as evidence of high-quality research outputs are essential.Applicants for the Assistant Professor (Practice) role should hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject and professional qualification or substantial professional experience in the discipline.
