The successful applicant will join a vibrant community of academics within HRM Subject Group who deliver learning material and conduct research in the broad area of Human Resource Management. You should be able to develop, lead and contribute to teaching in the area of Employment Relations (and Industrial Relations) at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This includes development of tutorial/seminars, along with managing the team that delivers these sessions. There will be opportunities for involvement in other subject areas, but capacity to teach and lead teaching in Employment Relations is critical. Being active in research and having ambitious research goals (to include developing research bids) is highly desirable (the Department has a strong research output). The HRM Subject Group is a cohesive and inclusive group whose members are supportive and collaborate with each other in both teaching and research.Colleagues appointed into our Lecturer grade are usually early career academics who are supported through their probationary period to develop their academic profile. The selection panel will assess your application and discuss with you which role you are being considered for at selection and appointment stages.ABOUT THE TEAMWorking within the Department of Leadership and HRM, you will join a team of highly qualified academics with a passion for enhancing the student experience through their research expertise. You will contribute to research informed and technology enabled learning and teaching on our contemporary suites of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, which include: Business Management Foundation year, BA Business and Human Resource Management, MSc Global Human Resource Management and MSc Business and Management programmes at all levels. In addition to teaching, you will undertake research and scholarly activities, contributing to the Faculty’s research profile and REF submission, together with contributing to consultancy, enterprise, and other income generation and business development activities.ABOUT YOUApplicants should hold a doctoral qualification (Assistant Professor) or exceptionally soon to be qualified (Lecturer) and have demonstrable specialist expert knowledge and subject expertise in a relevant subject discipline.Experience of designing, delivering, and assessing high quality teaching and learning practice as well as evidence of high-quality research outputs are essential.Further information is available in the and person specifications.
