About usPlease note: This post is offered as a GRADE 8 Lecturer or GRADE 9 Associate ProfessorThe UCL Division of Psychiatry, located within the Faculty of Brain Sciences, is a world-renowned centre of excellence in mental health research. Join our team and help us drive forward the field of mental health research and education.About the roleAn academic with general research skills (i.e. evidence synthesis, qualitative, quantitative and/or neuroscience research skills) is sought to join the team supporting students on the MSc in Clinical Mental Health Sciences and Mental Health Sciences Research at UCL’s Division of Psychiatry.These courses have been established since 2014 and provide a broad range of options for advanced study in mental health. There are pathways appropriate both for psychiatrists and other mental health professionals wishing to undertake advanced study and for graduates in psychology wishing to further their knowledge of clinical aspects of mental health. Most of our intake of around 120 are in the latter category, many aspiring either to be clinical researchers or clinicians (especially clinical psychologists). The course is very over-subscribed, resulting in a particularly high academic standard among the academic students. Many research projects are eventually published.Appointment details:

  • The post is 1.0 FTE and is a sabbatical leave cover available from the 1st January 2025 until the 31st March 2026.
  • This post is offered as a grade 8 Lecturer (£52,487 – £61,534 per annum) or grade 9 Associate Professor (£66,711 – £72,370 per annum), please see the person specification for further details.

About youThis postholder will support aspects of the course involving evidence synthesis, qualitative, quantitative, and/or neuroscience teaching and research. They will have a significant role in supporting current research projects, including second supervision and marking. Along with the rest of the teaching team, they will participate in delivery of teaching in keeping with their skills, module co-leadership, organising projects, sitting on the departmental extenuating circumstances panel, helping to organise journal clubs, supporting a study group, supporting personal tutors (staff), personal tutoring students, promotion and management of our programmes. For Grade 9 appointments, you would also be involved in the line management of staff and overall organisation of the programme.The successful candidate may request to spend 20% of their time on their own research, or on other career development activities separate from the MSc. This may be increased if the postholder is successful in obtaining research funding.Application process:
