In its wider setting, the School benefits from Liverpool’s standing as a member of the UK’s leading Russell Group research-intensive universities and from its location in a world-famous maritime city of culture and sport, which combines excellent transport links, and regional beauty with a world heritage skyline and is highly ranked on quality of life in the UK, while remaining one of Britain’s most affordable cities.ULMS is seeking to appoint a Lecturer with research interests in the field of Gambling Studies. You will undertake quantitative analysis as part of a research programme which examines gambling behaviour and ways to address gambling harm, whilst also lecturing in sports analytics on the School’s sports postgraduate programmes. Funded by industry you will spend 50% of your time on gambling studies working with an active research group focussed on the study of gambling behaviour and gambling harm within the Centre for Sports Business, and 50% of your time in student facing activities. The post offers the opportunity to contribute to a research field that is growing both nationally and internationally in response to the need for evidence-based public policy.You will join one of the six Subject Groups in the Management School depending on your disciplinary background, as well as the Centre for Sports Business. You will contribute to teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in your discipline.You will possess a PhD, or be in the final stages of completion, in a relevant area. You will have already obtained some level of success in publishing world-class or internationally excellent outputs.
