The School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of Manchester invites applications for a permanent post in ancient Greek Language and Literature, within the Department of Classics, Ancient History, Archaeology, and Egyptology (CAHAE).The successful candidate will have a PhD in ancient Greek Literature. They will demonstrate an excellent research profile (appropriate to career stage), including both track record and future plans, in the field of ancient Greek literature. We envisage that they will be included in the forthcoming REF submission of the Department.The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the delivery and assessment of existing course units primarily in the field of ancient Greek literature and language on CAHAE’s programmes; they should demonstrate the ability to develop new course units in Greek literature. Their application should show evidence of teaching abilities also in classical culture and in ancient Greek language.The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to administration for the Department as requested, and to play a full role in regular recruitment activities and staff-student events. They should demonstrate the ability to undertake the academic supervision and pastoral support of undergraduate and graduate students.We aim to shortlist during August and interview in September.What you will get in return:
