Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy, Business School,Department of Management – Sustainable FuturesThis post is available from the 1 June 2024 on a permanent basis.Largely based on the Penryn Campus, the Sustainable Futures team lead a programme of environment, sustainability and circular economy research, education and industrial engagement. With around 30 full-time staff the group offers new, visionary, interdisciplinary taught courses and executive education and also leads regional, national and international research projects exploring societies grand challenges, from a management perspective. The team engage extensively with industrial partners by providing Executive Education programmes including the delivery of UK Government, Help to Grow.The roleWe are seeking to appoint a new Lecturer with a particular interest in management, employment and higher-level competencies within the area of business and management.The post will include preparing and managing the delivery of teaching content, modules and executive education, and as a Lecturer you will have the ability to deliver a range of management courses, as directed, building content and managing all aspects to teaching quality.About youFor a Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD (nearing completion) or equivalent experience in business management to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning;
  • Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
  • Participate in, and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
  • Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
  • Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
