About the Department
Goldsmiths’ Department of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies is one of the oldest and largest media departments in the UK.
We’re ranked 12th in the world (and 2nd in the UK) for communication and media studies (QS World Rankings by subject 2022) and second in the UK for ‘world leading or internationally excellent research’ (Research Excellence Framework 2021).’
The Department is also unique in its diversity of approaches to, and articulations of, the disciplinary conjunctures around media and culture. It has equal research strengths in media and communications and in cultural studies research, in humanities and in social sciences approaches, and in theory- and practice-driven work.
About the Candidate
We are looking for a candidate with a deep knowledge of film and visual storytelling who has previously taught in Higher Education. You will play a crucial role in shaping the cinematography pathway on this highly established programme. You will need a solid background in professional practice and be familiar with the current film and television landscape.
About the Role
The MA Filmmaking programme based in the Department of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London is looking for an experienced professional to join our team. The applicant will be responsible for leading and overseeing the cinematography pathway and working in close collaboration with the other convenors leading pathways in directing, editing, producing and sound.
Salary from £49,250 to £56,354 (0.6 FTE, pro-rata)
Fixed-term position for 12 months: starts 4 September 2023 (or as soon as possible)
