Do you have a demonstrable commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in research and student education?You will be based in the School of Geography, which is home to the Social Justice, Cities, and Citizenship (SJCC) Cluster. In the context of increasingly diverse societies, unequal cities and uneven impacts of climate change, SJCC seeks to develop innovative research, often in collaboration with civil society organisations and community groups to overcome discrimination, injustice and disempowerment, and to achieve a fairer world. We are involved in a variety of local to international research partnerships from small NGOs to government departments. This work is underpinned by our successful record of external funding from a variety of national and international sources such as UK research councils, European Union, British Academy and the charitable sector. Colleagues in the School collaborate widely across campus and are actively involved with interdisciplinary initiatives and programmes such as the Leeds Social Sciences Institute, the Futures Institutes, the Leeds Migration Research Network, the Global Food and Environment Institute, and the MSc in Sustainable Cities.Building on these strengths, we are seeking a new colleague to produce innovative research and teaching that strengthens our focus on global change and inequality in a Majority World context. You will have research and teaching expertise related to one of these substantive areas: displacement, health, new technologies, or securitization.
