About the Department

The Department of English and Creative Writing (ECW) at Goldsmiths offers specialist teaching and research in English, American, Caribbean, European, and World literatures, critical theory, comparative literature, linguistics, creative writing, and translation. At all levels, teaching is research- and/or practice-led, combining the analytical and the creative to offer a distinctive range of core and option modules available to students across the department.

About the Role

Applications are invited for a fixed-term (12 month) post of Lecturer in Critical Theory, starting 1st October 2023.

You will make a contribution to all aspects of teaching, learning, and assessment on the BA module Aesthetics and the MA modules, Theories of Literature and Culture, and Literature and Philosophy, including marking formative and summative undergraduate assessments and supervising MA dissertations.  You will share in a range of departmental administrative responsibilities, including participating in quality assurance and governance processes, and as a research active member of the department, you will contribute to the departmental research culture.
