The University of Reading is home to a vibrant academic team in Biological Sciences that has been strengthened by several new appointments in the past five years building on existing expertise in phylogenetics and applied ecology. Underpinning this, the School of Biological Sciences occupies state of the art facilities, including the Health & Life Sciences building which enhances both our research and teaching. The School is ideally situated in a large species-rich green campus and nearby natural areas.The Division of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology seeks to appoint a highly motivated and successful scientist working in the areas of field-based Zoology or Ecology. Duties will include: contributions to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, to research including applications for funding, and to administrative duties as normally expected in a University environment.Candidates will have:

  • A PhD or DPhil in a relevant discipline.
  • A track record of high-quality research in an area of Zoology or Ecology, leading to publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • A willingness and ability to teach effectively and to embrace inclusive teaching culture.
