Vacancy terms: Full time or job share, permanentSalary details: Grade 8 – £44,263 to £54,395 per annum, pro rata if part-timeHours per week: 37.5Advert closes midnight on: 22 Sep 2024About the roleWe are looking for a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering to support in establishing a sound independent base for world-changing research and research-inspired education in the fields of electrical and electronics engineering.In this role, you will be making a significant contribution to our specialist teaching in China, through our strategic partnership with the Dalian University of Technology (The Dalian Leicester Institute). This will involve teaching modules in engineering subjects in China for up to 15 weeks each year.Joining our new Green Energy Technologies and Systems (GETS) Research Group in the School of Engineering, your expertise and research interests will be mainly focused (but not exclusively) on the fields of Power Systems, Sustainable Energy, Electrical Machines, Transportation, Power Electronics, Electronic Control, and Communications. The Group is a welcoming and inclusive team, undertaking interdisciplinary research focused on the School and College major research areas.Alongside research, you will contribute to teaching in at least two of those areas, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, and pursuing research and innovation contributing positively to our society. We will support you in developing your research and teaching career and, in turn, you will play a key role in ensuring our continued success and fulfilling our future ambitions.About youWe are looking for an enthusiastic educator capable of inspiring interest, curiosity and drive for learning in our students. You will have a real passion for the subject matter and be motivated to provide the very best experience for our students using your expertise and skill to ensure all reach their potential.We are interested in candidates with a PhD and/or postdoctoral experience in the above-mentioned areas. You should have an established reputation for research, with a high quality publication profile and be able to evidence your potentially fundable research ideas.
