Lecturer in Fashion Business Management

This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week. 

Westminster School of Arts (WSA) are seeking a Lecturer in Fashion Business Management to work mainly at undergraduate level on our successful BA Fashion Business Management course ,with some overlapping work on the MA Fashion Business Management programme.

This post requires someone with specific expertise teaching consumer behaviour with a strong awareness of the volatile nature of the fashion business environment and how this affects commercial and creative strategic decision making. You must have practical experience within a fashion business environment, with a professional and academic profile commensurate with the stage of your career. 

An important aspect of this role is responsibility for personal tutoring and the pastoral care of undergraduate students and supervision of major projects at both UG and PG levels,hence experience in this area is essential to this role.

You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to sustained continuous professional and academic development and nurture and maintain links with the fashion industry to strengthen teaching programmes, research, and associated activities. You will have experience in developing and delivering teaching and student-centred learning, with an extensive knowledge of fashion industry practice surrounding fashion business strategy, product development and the supply chain of fashion products. Additionally, the ability to engage in current debates, and a familiarisation with standards and regulations towards awareness of diversity and ethical issues as they relate to management of the fashion businesses.

You will be expected to be involved in developing your own research interests alongside other scholarly activities which can support your teaching activity and where the quality of the outputs can be recognised nationally in terms of originality, significance and rigour. 

You are also expected to hold a post-graduate or professional qualification, with a view to developing your research. A Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or a PG Cert HE would also be an advantage, and the successful candidate will be expected to achieve this status within their first year in the post if they have not already done so.
