Start Date: As soon as possibleinvites applications for a Lecturer in Finance (Education Focused) position. The successful candidate will join the Business School at an exciting time. The newly launched School is the largest in the University, building on the University’s rich heritage and the legacy of the leading Schools of Economics and Finance, and Management, whose merger created it. Its mission is to develop globally-minded leaders with the ambition, knowledge and skills to create a more prosperous and sustainable world.The successful candidate will be a finance scholar with excellent teaching skills and an interest in promoting knowledge exchange are essential. Candidates should have experience in research-led teaching in finance at an undergraduate or postgraduate level, with evidence of delivering an excellent student experience, pastoral care and collegiality. Candidates will provide teaching leadership in teams, design and develop modules (at all levels) and contribute to curriculum and programme development, particularly at the postgraduate taught level. They will take on service and leadership roles (for example, examinations officer, student-well being officer, staff well-being officer, equality, diversity and inclusion lead) and contribute to work on accreditation with external finance bodies (such as the Chartered Banker Institute) and internal reviews of learning and teaching. They will also participate in the broader development of the Business School’s internationalisation strategy, student exchanges and links with external stakeholders such as employers and professional bodies to foster collaboration.Candidates will hold a PhD in a cognate discipline, and have expertise and experience in teaching Finance.Employees of the University have access to a wide range of including:
