Job Description:Lecturer in Global Law and Digital TechnologyUOE08 – £48,350 – £59,421College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Law.Contract Type – Open EndedAvailable from 1st August 2024Full Time – 35 Hours Per WeekWe are looking for a committed and enthusiastic academic to join the School of Law as a Lecturer in Global Law and Digital Technology. We particularly welcome candidates with expertise in law and digital technologies from a perspective that captures the variety of international practices in political and jurisprudential contexts. Further specialised research interests would also be welcome, including for instance – but not limited to – digital and platform economy, information and media law and policy, innovation and sustainability in the digital age.You should have an established teaching and research profile as well as a proven commitment to promoting the student experience. The post will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and assessment as well as dissertation supervision in the IT/IP/Media Law Subject Area both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, particularly in the Global Law LLB programme.The successful candidate will play a full part in the collegiate life of the Subject Area and the Edinburgh Law School and will be expected to develop and execute a realistic and achievable research plan.The School of Law strives to be a diverse and inclusive community.   • A strong academic profile in the field of Law and Technology, with a PhD (or very close to completion) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to deliver excellent research-led teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Ability to develop an innovative research profile and plan in the areas of expertise, including through quality publications.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
