About usThe UCL Global Business School for Health (GBSH) at UCL East campus is an innovative business school preparing future healthcare leaders to disrupt and reimagine global health systems. GBSH is dedicated to training and developing the next generation of leaders in the global health economy by building on UCL’s proud tradition of cross-disciplinary academic excellence in education and research.About the roleThis post will support our postgraduate degree programmes as well as contribute to our interdisciplinary research agenda. We seek candidates with a research specialisation in Health Economics and/or Development or Financial Economics. Candidates must hold a PhD in Economics or Finance in relation to health and health systems.Given the interdisciplinary approach to health challenges taken at Global Business School for Health, we would expect this person to be able to work across disciplines. Moreover, this person would be expected to contribute to our research theme on health financing and operations, which focuses on applying economic evaluation and value-based healthcare approaches to achieve efficiencies in healthcare delivery, improving health and equity through behavioural and structural interventions, and comparing models of financing for healthcare and analysing the drivers of health spending.The post holder will need to be able to teach across applied health financing areas with a microeconomics emphasis to support a module in financial entrepreneurship.The post is due to start in January 2025.If you have any queries about the role, please contact Professor Nora Colton atIf you need reasonable adjustments or a more accessible format to apply for this job online or have any queries about the application process, please contact pleaseThis appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Academic Staff. Please visit for more information.About youYou will be required to have a PhD in health economics and/or economic development or financial economics with a health-related focus.
