Lecturer in International Relations and Politics

University of Wolverhampton

The School of Social Sciences and Humanities has launched a new suite of International Relations to complement its politics awards. We are looking to appoint a permanent, full-time Lecturer in International Relations and Politics to contribute to the provision of high-quality teaching and course development, and the enhancement of academic performance, student attainment and satisfaction.

We invite applications from candidates with teaching and/or research expertise across the discipline. In particular, an ability to teach one or more of the following topics would be most advantageous: current issues in International Relations; modern India and its emerging regional, international and global impact; terrorism; and British contemporary politics. You will be committed to the organisation and delivery of the core International Relations and Politics curriculum.  You will play a key role in developing and delivering a range of modules which take a broad issue-driven approach to the subject, thereby contributing to the University’s goal of producing graduates with an enhanced sense of their role as global citizens.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop our International Relations awards and to contribute to the ongoing work of diversifying and decolonising the curriculum.  As the successful candidate, you will be expected to participate in the development of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and engage with the School’s recruitment and outreach activities to build these new courses.

Informal enquiries can be directed to Dr David Hussey, Head of Department of Humanities Email D.P. [email protected]
