The School of Engineering has seen a period of exceptional growth in research, teaching, and enterprise activities. To support and maintain such growth, we are appointing to a Lecturer post and looking for a candidate to join our diverse mechanical and manufacturing team to deliver underpinning knowledge and skills in the subject areas of modern materials and manufacturing processes across the school. The successful candidate must show a demonstrable knowledge of a wide range of materials used in engineering contexts. They also must demonstrate knowledge of modern manufacturing processes and the integration of technologies to meet the demand of industry 4.0.The successful candidate will take an important role in the development, delivery, and assessment in the following subject areas:

  • Engineering materials and their behaviour
  • Design of advanced materials
  • Modern manufacturing processes, and the integration of technologies for Industry 4.0

The successful candidate must have a strong research profile, the potential to develop internationally recognised research programs, excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.Indeed, we wish to invite applications from a broad range of candidates with different skill sets. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a PhD and combine excellence in teaching with the capacity to conduct novel, interdisciplinary engineering research that will expand and complement the school’s research strengths.
