This full-time, permanent post is available immediately.Summary of the roleYou will contribute to extending the research profile of at Exeter, particularly in critical approaches to the study of Media and Communications from industrial, theoretical, or textual/representation perspectives related to areas of cultural politics and identity, including (but not limited to) social class, gender, sexuality, “race”, ethnicity, nationhood, disability.The successful candidate will teach on existing Communications modules and lead the development of new modules in their areas of expertise. They will attract postgraduate research students and research funding and develop collaborative professional partnerships within and beyond the department.About youYou will have: * a PhD in Media and Communications, or a related discipline, and have an independent, internationally recognised research programme in a relevant active field of research.

  • A strong record in attracting funding for research or demonstrate potential to attract such funding.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering and developing high quality undergraduate and postgraduate modules and have substantial prior teaching experience at university level.
  • The potential to make strong connections and funded projects with business and community partners.
  • The potential to participate and lead projects which have impact.
  • An evidenced commitment to equality and diversity within an organisation and a commitment to helping create an inclusive culture.
  • HEA Fellowship status or be committed to gaining this award within 18 months of appointment.
