The department also runs the , the and the PhD programme.We are looking for a Lecturer to undertake teaching and research in moving image practice and theory. We are seeking candidates who bring innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to moving image practice in research and pedagogy to complement and expand our existing team. Preference may be given to those who can demonstrate a track record of intersectional, transregional or globalised perspectives on moving image and its cultural, social and political significance.We expect members of our team to work collaboratively across the Programme. The postholder will be expected to teach, or contribute to, some of the Programme’s core moving image modules in both theory and practice: , , , and . An ability to teach the elective module , is desirable but not essential. The postholder will be expected to supervise students’ final year projects and to write and run module(s) in areas of their expertise. The postholder may also be expected to contribute to the transdisciplinary module in year 1, . The postholder will also be a Personal Tutor.The postholder will have an active creative research profile in film and/or artists’ moving image and/or wider digital media practice, with demonstrable evidence of high-quality creative work and/or research outputs in more traditional academic formats.The post is based at the UCL East campus but travel to the main Bloomsbury campus may be required for departmental activities or to contribute to teaching on the BASc programmes.This post is full-time and available from 1 September 2025.The postholder will be hold a PhD degree or have equivalent professional experience in any area relevant to interdisciplinary creative arts and humanities, in particular Film and Moving Image Practice and Theory. Experience of contribution to curriculum development and to the organisation and management of teaching programmes is essential.In addition, the postholder will have proven experience in research in creative arts and humanities with specialisms in Film and Moving Image Practice and Theory.
