Description: The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology seeks to appoint a part-time lecturer to teach an ecology course (EEB 321: “Ecology: Species interactions, biodiversity, & society”) during the Fall 2024 semester. This course comprises twice-weekly lectures, along with a weekly laboratory section led by graduate assistants. The appointed lecturer will also hold weekly on-campus office hours. This course traditionally covers the fundamentals of population and community ecology, along with select topics in the study of biodiversity and human-environment interactions. The appointed lecturer will have full access to prior years’ syllabi, lecture slides, and other materials for use as needed, but will also be free to modify the course content at their discretion. Interested applicants must submit a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching (no more than 500 words) explaining how the candidate would approach the course and contact information for at least one and no more than three professional references at https://puwebp.princeton.edu/AcadHire/position/34381. Review of applications will begin immediately. The applicant must have an advanced degree in related sciences and be knowledgeable about ecology. Teaching experience at the higher education level required. A Ph.D. in biological sciences is highly preferred. While the appointment period for this position spans September 1, 2024 to January 16, 2025, classes will begin on September 3, 2024 and end on December 5, 2024. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University. This position is subject to the University’s background check policy.
