Our location enables us to have excellent contacts with practitioners & policymakers, and we have a strong tradition of engagement with the legal profession.About the roleThe Dickson Poon School of Law is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Private Law who will contribute to the teaching, research, & other academic and professional activities at The Dickson Poon School of Law.The successful candidate is expected to have completed a PhD by the starting date. They should be keen to gain further experience in a research-led teaching role with active involvement in the administration and academic life of a thriving law school.The successful candidate’s principal teaching contribution will be in our undergraduate & postgraduate programmes, in Private Law subjects with an emphasis upon the common law of Contract Law and/or Tort Law. Beyond the successful candidate’s subject specialism it is expected that they will have a solid generalist knowledge of common law Private Law subjects & an ability to impart this knowledge to undergraduate students. The successful candidate may be required to teach across all modes of programme delivery: on-campus, blended and online.In relation to their research, the successful candidate will have a demonstrably high potential to attract research funding, will be impact-focused and able contribute, if applicable, to the research priorities of the research centres in the School of LawThe successful candidate will be welcomed as an integral part of our faculty.
