Our strong portfolio of taught programmes is informed by state-of-the-art technology and practice, designed to meet the current and future demands of industry.About you:This role provides an exciting opportunity to join our team of experts in product design engineering. The ideal candidate will have:
- A PhD in a relevant subject area
- Relevant industrial experience of product design and experience of the full product development lifecycle.
- Skills in computer-aided design – Ideally including: Fusion 360 software or similar and digital media software such as Photoshop, InDesign and Keyshot
- Experience of the full product development lifecycle.
- The ability to clearly communicate to a diverse audience including industrial stakeholders.
- Computer aided manufacturing expertise.
About the role:The successful candidate will teach and support projects across MSc, MEng, BEng and BSc programmes with a particular focus on the BSc Engineering Product Design and MSc Digital Design and Manufacturing. They will be able to benefit from and contribute to Manchester Metropolitan University’s PrintCity – a leading digital manufacturing facility specialising in additive manufacturing. They will have excellent working knowledge of the design and innovation industry and their research should demonstrate a strong alignment to at least one of the department’s associated research centres/groups such as the Advanced Materials and Surface Engineering research centre or Smart Infrastructure and Industry Research group.
