Salary:Grade J, £42,882 – £48,149 (Grade J);Grade K, £49,559 – £55,755 (Grade K) per annum depending on experienceThe roleThe School of Psychological Science at the University of Bristol seeks to appoint an outstanding new Lecturer in Social Psychology with research expertise that builds on the School’s strengths and creates opportunities to work with other parts of the University. We are open to all methodological approaches in Social Psychology, but particularly encourage applicants with expertise in participatory research methods approaches to apply.What will you be doing?This appointment will combine research and teaching duties on the University’s Academic Pathway 1 (research and teaching). Working in a collegial and supportive environment, the successful candidate will be expected to develop an active research programme and lead and deliver inspiring, innovative, and inclusive teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. They will be expected to contribute positively to our community and carry out academic administration to contribute to the running of the School.Research: The successful applicant will have a proven research record and experience working in a research environment. The post-holder will be expected to have published academic work of the highest quality and show the potential to secure external grant income to support their research. They will also be expected to make a positive contribution to the research culture of the School and the wider University to maximise the impact of their research with external partners.Teaching: The successful applicant will be required to teach across all our undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. Teaching duties will include personal tutorials, project supervision, and design, delivery, and assessment of taught content and seminar sessions on various units.Administration and leadership: The successful applicant will be allocated general academic administrative responsibilities as specified by the Head of School(HoS)/HoS Delegate.You should apply ifYou should apply if you have a proven track record in publishing high quality research in Social Psychology and the ability to capture grant funding. You have the ability and enthusiasm to engage effectively with professional and academic staff and work independently to organise your own schedule. You can demonstrate knowledge of culturally inclusive teaching practice, have experience teaching.
