The roleThe University of Bristol is announcing significant investment in new academic staff posts to grow our talented Computer Science community, underpinned by recent successful activities including two new Doctoral Training Centres in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, Isambard AI – the UK’s most powerful supercomputer, a multi-million pound Bristol-led AI research hub in Collective Intelligence, and an entirely new enterprise campus with facilities, labs and collaboration spaces supporting major regional activities in creative technologies. New posts align with strengths in AI, Cybersecurity, Cryptography, Verification, Computer Vision, Immersive and Creative Technologies and High-Performance Computing.As part of this growth, we wish to hire an outstanding candidate for a lectureship in verification. Bristol has a longstanding track record in verification, including research in trustworthy systems, programming languages and cryptography. Our academics work on verification of algorithms, software and hardware, including cyber-physical systems, compilers, cryptographic protocols, robotics, microelectronics and machine learning, but we will consider applications from outstanding candidates across the field, broadly conceived. The post holder will collaborate with existing members of the School while helping to drive forward our research profile in verification, developing new opportunities for research and education.This post will be at the Lecturer level, with the grade being either J or K, depending on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.What will you be doing?
