Lecturer or Associate Professor in Magnetic Resonance

The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Southampton welcomes applications for Lecturer or Associate Professor in Magnetic Resonance. The successful candidate will strengthen our thriving research culture within the triple helix strategy of the University, which seeks to achieve cross-fertilisation between research, education and enterprise activity. The University of Southampton is in the top 1% of world universities and is one of the UK’s top 15 research-intensive universities.Magnetic Resonance includes groups from three faculties. Five PIs with multiple UK and international grants are in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, with others from Biological Sciences and Medicine, and a dedicated research engineer. We operate a large research facility with eight high-field NMR instruments, EPR and various low-field and benchtop systems. Instrumentation for solution and solid-state NMR includes specialist (sometimes world-unique) capabilities, often with custom components for small scale MRI and cryogenic, field-cycling, microfluidic, parahydrogen-enhanced, metabolomic, supercritical fluid, high temperature and high-pressure NMR.About the roleWe seek candidates with a recognised profile in a topical area with a significant magnetic resonance focus, consistent with the level being applied for. You will undertake internationally recognised research, and work to attract significant research funding. You will contribute to the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in a leadership, research, enterprise and educational capacity.
