Grade 8 (Lecturer), Salary Range: G8: £48,149 – £57,422Grade 9 (Senior lecturer), Salary Range: £59,139 – £70,579Arrangements for job share would be consideredKeele University seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Game Design within the School of Humanities, who will serve as programme lead for our . This is an exciting chance to shape a new course at a time that Keele is growing its provision of creative arts and industries degrees.The ideal candidate will have experience of a creative approach to designing and delivering a higher education curriculum at undergraduate level. This role requires a versatile approach and ability to deliver across different areas of Game Design, contributing to a vibrant and collaborative team, building links to industry professionals, and developing partnerships with regional colleges and schools.The successful candidate will ensure a positive student experience by leading the teaching, assessment, and administration processes of the programme. They will guide students in their own creative practice and critical thinking, bringing together storytelling, technological innovation, and professional preparation.Candidates should have excellent conceptual understanding and digital skills in game design. They will demonstrate experience in a relevant area of Game Design that could include 3D modelling for games, game art, or storytelling and worldmaking. They will have experience of using current industry standard techniques and processes with a proficiency in industry-standard software and knowledge of games engines.The role sits in the Education & Scholarship academic job family, so to complement their teaching the successful candidate will develop their academic profile with self-directed projects, which could include educational initiatives, scholarly or pedagogical publications, or practice-based creative outputs, commensurate with their career stage.A good first degree in a relevant discipline is required; the successful candidate will have either a higher-level qualification such as a Masters, PhD, or relevant professional experience, potentially in industry and/or education.Keele is committed to the principles of the Athena SWAN charter, and values equality and diversity across our workforce.
