We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our School of Education, which has a long and proud history in education, childhood and teacher training and a reputation for outstanding graduates.In seeking an inspirational and highly committed Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, to join our Education and Early Childhood Studies Subject Area, you may also, from time to time, have opportunity to contribute to disciplines and other programmes, including Early Childhood, Primary, and Special Educational Needs.Our dynamic BA (Hons) Learning, Development and Support programme is largely aimed at individuals who are returning to education after gaining practical knowledge from their work with children and want to progress to teacher training, social work or a mentoring role. You will join our forward-thinking tutor teams in leading – or contributing to, excellent teaching, learning and practice development for students on this programme of study.You must be willing and able to work on a contained number of Saturdays as part of our flexible working arrangements. This programme is specifically targeted at students who are in the workplace during the week.This is your opportunity to be a key contributor to providing a high quality, exceptional and transformative educational experience with our students, and to be part of our continued development and growth.You will also have:
- An Honours Degree, Masters level qualification – or equivalent experience, PhD (as relevant to Lecturer or Senior Lecturer appointment).
- A track record of successful teaching or pastoral/specialist learning and development support in an educational setting.
- Be committed to the pastoral support and successful academic achievements of students.
- Enthusiasm for engaging with schools and a range of other educational settings to enhance the student experience and employability.
- A research-informed understanding of how the outputs of scholarship and research or professional body engagement can inform curriculum development in order to enhance the learning experience of students.
