Location: Manchester All Saints CampusWe are recruiting a Lecturer in Politics and International Relations to provide specialist, high quality teaching and research in the Department of History, Politics and Philosophy.About usSituated within the Arts & Humanities Faculty, The Department of History, Politics and Philosophy brings together the expertise of over 50 academic staff. The Politics and International Relations team share an interest in contemporary politics and the future of global social-political development. It has research strengths in Digital Politics, Critical Political Theory, EU and US Foreign Policy, Social Media and Democracy.The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Manchester Metropolitan University is a unique environment where Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences sit alongside the Manchester School of Art and the Manchester Fashion Institute. We are proud to offer state-of-the-art facilities, including digital and technical workshops, studios and gallery spaces designed to enhance learning and collaboration.Ideal candidateThis permanent Full time post is a Lecturer in Political Communications (anticipated start September 2025). The successful candidate will be an expert in digital politics with a focus on the impact of digital development on governance and political participation in authoritarian regimes. They should also have extensive knowledge of the use and analysis of social data and statistical approaches in the social sciences. It is expected they should have experience of working as part of an academic team, be an excellent teacher, and committed to promoting inclusivity in and through their teaching.
