Who we’re looking for:We are looking for a Lecturer in Primary Education with a background in English to join the Marjon team predominantly working on primary undergraduate and postgraduate routes into teaching.We would be particularly interested in those that could offer the following:
What you’d be doing:You will have significant recent experience of teaching in schools and/or in a teacher educator role in a university or School led system. You will hold QTS, with the ability to teach on a variety of primary modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will have a considerable amount of interaction with schools, trainees, tutorial input and wider contribution to the activities within the relevant programmes and the school. The role will involve contribution to recruitment events. Marjon academics are strongly engaged in research or knowledge exchange activities and those entering the team would be expected to contribute to this area of work.You’ll need to enjoy:Collaborating with others, leading small groups, thinking creatively, communicating with others (in person, over the phone or by email), engaging with technology, providing excellent trainee support and quickly building rapport with colleagues/students.Where you’ll work:In this role, you’ll be based in the Marjon Teacher Education Partnership team, on our green campus in the north of Plymouth.Our current hybrid working policy means you can work from home or on campus, but you will need to maintain strong campus links and be available on-site when needed.For an informal discussion about the role please contact Professor Gary Kinchin, Dean of the School of Education, on or Jodie Greaves, MTEP Partnership Leader, onSupporting our people:We recognise that our recruitment might bring in staff who are new to higher education and are bringing knowledge and expertise from other fields and practice.
