Bristol Law School, UWE – x2 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Law posts 1.0 FTEAbout this roleBristol Law School UWE has been a leading provider of legal education for over 40 years. We are proud to be a full-service Law School offering a comprehensive suite of academic and professional law courses. As a forward-thinking Law School, we have invested heavily in creating the right environment for our students to build both academic knowledge of the law, and the practical skills required to enter legal practice. We offer state of the art facilities, including two mock courtrooms, modern Harvard lecture theatres and teaching spaces, a Legal Resource Room, and a dedicated Business and Law Clinic, where our law students undertake a range of pro bono work, supervised by solicitors or barristers.We are an ambitious, innovative and inclusive Law School where our staff work hard to advance knowledge, inspire students and transform futures.We are currently recruiting x2 Lecturers/Senior Lecturers to teach on UG and PG Academic Law programmes. Working with an experienced team of Academic Law colleagues, successful candidates will teach, assess and support students on the LLB and LLM programmes. It is expected that successful candidates will also undertake module leadership roles and supervise dissertations/projects. We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with teaching experience and expertise in at least two of the following areas:
- International Investment Law
- International Environmental Law
- Alternative Dispute Resolution/International Arbitration
- Cyberlaw/IT Law
- Employment Law
- Company Law
Successful candidates will also work closely with the Head of School, Directors, Associate Directors and Programme Leaders to continue the development of the School’s learning and teaching initiatives and ensure the innovative nature of the curriculum.About youWe are seeking to recruit ambitious, innovative, inclusive and collaborative individuals for these posts to teach, assess and support students on the LLB, Law and Criminology and/or LLM programmes. Prospective candidates should have an in-depth knowledge, gained through scholarship, research and / or professional practice, in at least two of the subject areas identified above. They should also have experience of teaching in a higher / further education sector. In addition, prospective applicants should possess excellent communication, organisational and time management skills, and have the ability to communicate complex information in a student-friendly and effective manner. A commitment to a student-centred approach and maintaining high ethical standards is crucial.
