Working within a team you will deliver the vibrant, real-world education your students deserve.The PersonYou will be a nurse on the NMC register Children’s Nursing, preferably with experience caring for children and young people with acute healthcare needs and their families. Ideally, you will be educated to at least Masters level. You are resourceful, enthusiastic, and ambitious. You will work within a highly motivated team who are constantly developing and enhancing the learning and teaching they deliver. You are interested in teaching and can share your knowledge, skills and expertise with the nursing workforce of the future. A teaching qualification is desirable for this position with experience in teaching in a higher education institution. The faculty supports new members of staff to gain appropriate qualifications and are keen to support ongoing academic and professional development.The FacultyThe School of Nursing, Allied and Public Health is a vibrant and highly successful School within the Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education. The School, based at the University’s Kingston Hill campus, provides a range of pre-registration courses across the four fields of nursing (Adult, Children’s, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health) at undergraduate and postgraduate level which lead to registration in nursing. Working in partnership with employers, the School delivers an innovative portfolio of courses which support workforce development. The School is increasing its apprenticeship provision and plans to deliver a number of new apprenticeships in the next couple of years.The School is proud of its inspirational approach to learning and teaching with staff receiving national awards for their innovation including Nursing Associate Provider at the 2024 Student Nursing Times Award. Our pre-registration courses have a blended by design curriculum to enable our graduates to have the attributes to work in a digital health and care sector. The University has invested in the development of state-of-the-art simulation centres to support student learning and enhance the School’s innovative teaching.Our research areas include learning disability, bereavement and palliative care, health policy, new roles within health, health inequalities in hard-to-reach groups and at lifespan transitions, the education of professionals and workforce innovation and patient and public involvement.
