Department:Salary:Grade 8 £46,974 – £56,021 per annum. Potential to progress to £63,029.Grade 9 £59,421 – £66,857 per annum. Potential to progress to £77,475We are seeking to recruit a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Data, Society and AI to enhance and expand our excellent research and teaching in the following areas: social and organisational challenges of high quality and responsible data science/AI, including topics such as ethical/responsible data/AI practice and use, sustainable data science/AI, and algorithmic bias in organisational contexts.You will conduct a programme of internationally competitive research, as evidenced by publications and presentations at leading conferences in your field. In addition, you will design, deliver, assess, and evaluate teaching programmes in modules that cover; Data and Society; Data Science in Context; Responsible Data Science; Data Ethics and Leadership; Ethical and Responsible AI and Computing; Data Governance and Ethics.You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field, a developing (Lecturer) / established (Senior Lecturer) research profile, a proven teaching ability, a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration.As the role will involve supervising and supporting research students and colleagues, you will be required to foster a culture of mutual support and collegiality. At Senior Lecturer level, we would welcome prior experience of supporting staff performance and the ability to lead and manage research activity.If you feel like you would be a good fit for the role, we would love to hear from you!This role is supported by , a UK Government scheme designed to help the next generation of AI leaders meet the costs of relocating to the UK. AI Futures Grants provide financial support to reimburse relocation costs such as visa fees, the immigration health surcharge and travel/subsistence expenses.
