The Strategy and Organization Division at the University of Bath School of Management is seeking applicants to join its centre of excellence at the intersection of entrepreneurship and innovation in the role of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor).The School of Management is located in an impressive new building with state-of-the art resources near the city of Bath. It is ranked within the UK’s top ten and the world’s Global 100 business schools. In REF 2021, 91% of its submissions were judged to be ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’, with 51% of submissions rated as 4*. This placed the School 7th in the UK for business and management studies. Knowledge from our research informs our teaching, and we are proud of how this helped us gain TEF Gold status in the Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework. The School has gained Athena Swan bronze status and is actively challenging limitations placed on academic careers by any forms of bias. We provide a highly successful portfolio of teaching programmes including undergraduate, masters, MBA and PhD. We aim to build on these successes, and part of this strategy involves expanding our group of colleagues working to advance the broader university vision to develop future innovators and make a positive impact through research and enterprise.The intersection of entrepreneurship and innovation is a centre of excellence within the Strategy and Organization Division, and is led by world-leading Professor Dimo Dimov. As a community of scholars, we have vibrant and diverse interests that span the full frontier of value-creation and future-shaping practices. We aspire to be one of the leading international centres of entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy research and teaching by generating new knowledge, insights and approaches to inform and shape practice. Our research covers the spectrum from applied to theoretical, from qualitative to quantitative methods, and from start-ups to established firms. We publish in leading generalist journals, including Academy of Management journals, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Management Studies, and Organization Science, and leading entrepreneurship and innovation journals such as Research Policy, Journal of Business Venturing, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. We sustain a collegial and developmental research culture, supported by a wide range of seminars, workshops, and activities through our research centre, CREI. We offer a diverse set of teaching programmes, which seek to engage, inform, and enliven our students’ passion to become change agents for a better future. We have an established track record of generating impact working with practitioners and policymakers, including co-developing new venture programmes, shaping managerial practice, informing policy making, and generating new tools and techniques. We are an international team, with on-going collaborations with leading universities from around the world.Applicants will be interested in contributing to any aspect of the intersection between entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy, and we are particularly interested in colleagues who can bring new ways of thinking about value creation and future making. We seek people who are equally passionate about teaching and research and who desire to influence practice. The successful applicants will have established a trajectory of publishing in internationally leading journals and will have a developing track record of applying for research grant funding. They will have experience of supervising research students and will be keen to supervise doctoral students. They will have experience of successfully carrying out administration roles. Excellent teachers, they will be keen to develop their teaching expertise. Evidence of participation in leadership and administration roles will be an advantage. The Division is a vibrant and collegial academic community of almost 50 members of staff and successful candidates will want to play a full role in the Division’s thriving and ambitious culture. The team of colleagues is not only high-achieving but highly supportive. Colleagues are active contributors to the academic community through editing journals, taking up leadership positions in professional bodies, organising workshops and conferences.
