The School of Arts, Humanities and Creative Industries is a vibrant and innovative School at the University of Surrey. It has a long history of relevance to its local games industry including providing a home to Guildford’s first game development studio, .Today, the University of Surrey collaborates with some of the most significant companies that the UK’s creative industries have to offer, on projects that develop the latest advancements in immersive experiences and virtual reality. We also host (within the Surrey Reach Park) , a creative sector specific co-working space, and offer business support with the internationally acclaimed start-up and incubation hub SETsquared, collaborative R&D funding initiatives, and access to leading advisors and academics at the University.The Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP) is internationally recognised leader in audio-visual machine perception research. With a diverse community of more than 150 researchers, we are one of the largest audio and vision research groups in the UK. We offer courses that explore a diverse range of fields from video games, experiential design, and visual effects, to live performance, advertising, film, and television.Looking to expand our provision, we are launching a Games Design BSc commencing September 2025. We are looking for an exceptional Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with qualifications and experience in the field to lead the programme.About youThe successful candidate is expected to have a PhD in a subject aligned to Creative Technologies and Games, or to have extensive relevant industry experience and certifications. Teaching experience at university UG and PG levels, and a track record of research in Creative Technologies and Games subject area are essential. The post-holder will contribute to research and enterprise/knowledge exchange development; will participate in postgraduate research supervision (as part of a supervisory team); and undertake research and scholarly activity to underpin their teaching.
