With 900 staff from over 60 countries worldwide the School provides a dynamic, multi-national, collegiate and diverse environment with state-of-the-art laboratory, technology and teaching facilities.We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Immunology (Teaching and Scholarship) within our D’Arcy Thompson Unit, to play a key role in delivering teaching across a range of degree titles.The successful candidate will join a highly motivated team of teaching-focussed academics in the D’Arcy Thompson Unit to contribute to teaching, assessment, student support, scholarly activity and curriculum development. They will join efforts to further enhance the quality of our teaching and student experience, working with colleagues from the research divisions of both the School of Life Sciences and the School of Medicine to facilitate delivery of research-led teaching. The person will also contribute to a range of strategies designed to maximise the employability of our graduates.The successful candidate will be appointed to the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer grade, depending on experience.We encourage candidates who have relevant experience, particularly in the field of monoclonal antibodies, immunotherapies and vaccines, including biomedically-relevant statistics, and who are fully committed to excellence in teaching and scholarship to apply. You should have expertise in employing a range of teaching and assessment methods and experience of developing innovative approaches to learning and teaching.Please note that applications made on a part-time basis for this role will not be considered.Your priorities will include:

  • To contribute to biological and biomedical sciences teaching including BSc and MSc programmes, including in immunology and related areas
  • To manage and further enhance specific modules in the biological and biomedical sciences core curriculum
  • To provide pastoral and Adviser of Studies support to undergraduate students

Who we’re looking for (Lecturer or Senior Lecturer depending on experience):

  • PhD in a relevant subject
  • Teaching experience in a further/higher education environment
  • Evidence of successful course or module development (desirable for L, essential for SL)
  • In-depth knowledge of a wide range of technologies used in higher education
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
