SalaryLecturer: £44,559 – £51,013;Senior Lecturer: £52,392 – £58,434 per annumThe SchoolThe School of Human and Social Sciences is a multidisciplinary school that empowers and equips students to shape a sustainable, just and healthy society. The School has recently expanded its disciplinary coverage and now delivers a portfolio of education, research and enterprise activity across psychology, criminology, education & early years, forensic science, nutritional therapy, sociology, and politics & international relations. The University is committed to the continued growth of the School of Human and Social Sciences with recent investments in portfolio developments, new equipment and staff.Our course portfolio in Psychological Sciences leads to awards from foundation level to taught postgraduate and research degrees (e.g., MRes and PhD). It reflects a long-standing, institutional commitment to inclusion: most taught courses offer a September and a February intake, while UG courses are accessible via a broad-based foundation year. We also validate a growing number of UG and PG courses delivered internationally.The RoleTo support our exciting development and growth aspirations for psychology, we are looking to strengthen our academic team through the appointment of candidates with suitable qualifications and experience. We welcome applications from highly motivated individuals to contribute to research, enterprise and external engagement, as well as student support and course and curriculum development and delivery. We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in sport psychology, counselling psychology, and those with boarder expertise in quantitative methods, however, we welcome applications across the full range of core BPS areas (cognitive psychology, biopsychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, individual differences). Successful candidates at all levels will be expected to lead and deliver taught modules across our UG and PG portfolio in Psychological Sciences, supervise UG/PGT dissertations and PGR theses, and strengthen our research and enterprise profile through securing funding for and delivering projects, and disseminating findings through presentations and publications. The precise mix of duties and objectives will be determined on an individual basis in line with the seniority of the appointment.The PersonThis is an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and experienced candidates, who holds a PhD in psychology or a related area (for appointment at lecturer level, we will consider applications from those due to complete their doctoral programme within six months of the date of application). In line with the seniority of the appointment, applicants should have a track record in research and relevant HE curriculum development and delivery.
