Job Description:Lectureship/Readership in Probability and Stochastic AnalysisSchool of MathematicsLectureship – Grade UE08 £48,350 – £59,421 per annumReadership – Grade UE09 £61,198 – £75,498 per annumFull time: 35 hours per weekOpen-ended post: permanentThe Opportunity:The School of Mathematics is seeking to appoint to a lectureship in Probability and Stochastic Analysis Mathematics (equivalent to Assistant Professor) to start in September 2024 or later by agreement. Very strong and experienced applicants may be appointed to a Readership (equivalent to Associate Professor).The field of Probability and Stochastic Analysis is understood in a broad sense. Those pursuing interdisciplinary research with links to other fields, for instance, Computing, Engineering, Finance, Physics, or links to industry are also encouraged to apply. In addition to carrying out high-quality research, the successful candidate will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate courses and the teaching and further development of our successful MSc programmes in Mathematical Finance.The School has particular strengths in stochastic analysis, applied probability, mathematical finance, machine learning, and computational modelling, with a wide variety of interests across all aspects of probability.This post is full-time (35 hours per week).
