Leeds Wild Spaces Project Officer

Contract: Fixed term for 12 months
Hours: 37 hours per week (1fte)
Location: Home based (in the Leeds area) with travel required around the project area in Leeds.
Salary: Grade C, salary range £28,148 to £32,519 pa (dependent on experience), plus 8% employer
pension contribution

The Leeds Wild Spaces Project Officer will coordinate delivery of a new project to create Wild
Spaces within publicly accessible urban settings in Leeds, running public events and training
for local communities. This role will inspire and support local people to learn about and take
action to help butterflies and moths. The Project Officer will also work closely with Leeds
City Council to oversee creation of 8 new areas of wildflower meadow and train volunteers to
look after them beyond the duration of the project.

Wild Spaces is Butterfly Conservation’s flagship engagement programme. It provides a simple and
easy way for everyone to get involved and make a difference to help butterflies and moths.

Wild Spaces are all around us. They are the flowers in our window boxes, the pots on our
patios, the patches of weeds in our gardens or allotments, and the wildflower meadows in our
churchyards and parks. They provide space for nature to thrive and places for people to access
and enjoy.
