Leicestershire Farm Discovery Programme Officer

Salary: £30,000 + travel expenses
Hours: Full-time, 35 hrs/week (mix of delivery and programme support)
Contract: 3-Year fixed-term contract
Base: Home-based with travel across Leicestershire

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and adaptable Programme Officer to help bring food, farming, and the countryside to life for primary-aged children with the fewest opportunities. This unique role blends hands-on delivery of farm visits across Leicestershire with operational programme support for our national Farm Discovery team.

What you’ll do

Delivery (Local)

• Lead inspiring, safe, hands-on farm visits for children across Leicestershire.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with local farmers and schools.
• Tailor experiences that spark curiosity and help children connect with food, farming, and the natural world.

Programme Support (National)

• Support the smooth running of the national Farm Discovery programme.
• Manage data, budgets, and reports to ensure high-quality, consistent delivery.
• Help refine systems, support meetings and recruitment, and contribute to programme monitoring and development.

• Builds strong relationships with teachers, farmers, and colleagues.
