Our library vision, The Library Towards 2025 , sets out our ambitions to be a library that is connected, that goes beyond providing just a service and building, and works in partnership with all Lancaster University communities.  Central to this vision is the experience we provide to our students and other users, both in person in the Library building and remotely.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to manage the library frontline team and be jointly responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of information support, providing a high quality of service delivery during all Library opening hours.  You will bring experience of working in a user facing role in a library, experience of managing and motivating a team, and the ability to work as part of a team in a busy, user-focused environment.

You will be able to work some of your time remotely, with the exact proportion of remote working to be determined in discussion with the line manager and in accordance with University guidelines.

The University strives to be diverse and inclusive, a place where we can all be ourselves. We welcome applications from people in diversity groups, particularly encouraging applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, who are underrepresented at the University.

We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. Consideration will be given to job share applications.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Fiona Rhodes, Head of Library Space & Experience, [email protected]
