Are you an experienced Communications Officer looking to support an exciting programme working with young people to inspire them to live healthier lives? 

LifeLab is a hospital-based classroom providing innovative and inspiring activities to encourage teenagers to make informed choices about their health-related behaviour, as well as generating an interest in science and health as future study or career options. 

The successful candidate will work with the LifeLab team to develop, lead, manage and deliver a communication plan for LifeLab, in line with the University of Southampton’s, the University Hospital Southampton’s and the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre’s overarching communications strategies. The successful candidate will be expected to provide professional leadership and specialist knowledge on communications and to lead and manage the communications to multiple internal and external stakeholders.

The post holder will be expected to work as part of a friendly team, good team working skills are essential, we welcome creative ideas and encourage independent thinking.

You will be enthusiastic and well-motivated, keen to take on responsibility and work independently, a good team-player with excellent communication skills, capable of delivering your tasks timely and with accuracy. 

This post will be based at LifeLab at the University Hospital Southampton, occupying a modern, well-equipped, purpose-built classroom laboratory facility.
