JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting field assessments to identify the food security and livelihood needs of target communities.
- Help in identifying and selecting eligible beneficiaries for LFS interventions based on established criteria.
- Participate in community mobilization efforts to raise awareness of LFS programs and encourage community participation.
- Assist in providing training and support to beneficiaries on improved agricultural practices, business skills, and other livelihood activities.
- Support the day-to-day implementation of LFS activities, ensuring adherence to NRC’s guidelines and standards.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating LFS project activities, collecting data on progress and outcomes, and contributing to regular reports.
- Coordinate with logistics to ensure the timely distribution of inputs and materials to project sites.
- Work closely with local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to facilitate the smooth implementation of LFS activities.
- Support the implementation of cash-based interventions and market-based programming under the guidance of the LFS Officer.
- Participate in emergency response activities related to food security and livelihoods, including needs assessments, distributions, and post-distribution monitoring (PDM).
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, including beneficiary lists, distribution records, and training attendance.
Skills & Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Economics, Social Sciences, Rural Development, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in implementing food security and livelihoods projects in a humanitarian or development context.
- Basic understanding of cash-based interventions and market-based programming is an advantage.
- Experience working in complex and volatile environments is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of Somali is an advantage.
