This is a 2 PA locum appointment for a Consultant in Gynaecology and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The post will be available immediately for a period of 12 months with a possibility of extension. The Leeds Centre for Reproductive Medicine (LCRM) works closely with CARE Fertility Leeds to offer a full range of infertility investigations and treatments.This post will deliver 2 PAs supporting the Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine teams across Leeds.This post has been developed to address an increase in demand for the service. Specifically this post requires applicants with specialist skills in reproductive medicine and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology.The successful applicant should be a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists MRCOG and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK, or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director.Main duties of the jobApplicants should have established skills in Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine. Qualifications
Essential

  • MB BS (or equivalent)
  • MRCOG or equivalent qualification (or within 6 months of completion)
  • Completion of RCOG Subspecialist Training and accreditation in Reproductive Medicine (or within 6 months of completion)

Desirable

  • Higher degree e.g. MD/PhD relevant to the subspecialty.

Additional Requirements
Essential

  • Medically fit to fulfil ALL aspects of the post, and to be able to respond quickly to emergencies, as necessary. Meets professional health requirements (in line with GMC standards/GMP)
  • Hold full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via – CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) / CESR (or) European Community Rights

Experience
Essential

  • Should have completed a recognised training programme in labour ward and gynaecological practice.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in Gynaecology specifically higher training in reproductive medicine & independent gynaecology practice relevant to post
  • Evidence of continuous career progression consistent with personal circumstances.

Desirable

  • ATSM or SITM relevant to post
  • Experience advanced gynaecology skills including paediatric and adolescent gynaecology.

Clinical, Academic, and Personal Skills
Essential

  • Evidence of the ability to carry out medical research.
  • Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.
  • Experience of participation in regular clinical audit.
  • Understanding of current issues in the NHS.
  • Evidence of QI/Governance Experience/Service Improvement
  • Well organised and skilled in good time management.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to relate to and work within a team.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of supervising research by junior staff.
  • Evidence of ongoing research or recent involvement as PI.
  • GCP
  • Previous attendance on Appraisal Techniques and Small Group Teaching Workshops.
  • Attendance at recognised management course.
  • Experience working for NHSE or Network organisations or similar
