Locum consultant Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic surgeon

The role will specifically involve:1. Undertaking major hepatobiliary and pancreatic resections as part of the HPB surgical team2. Participating in the 24/7 tertiary HPB on call rota covering Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire.3. Support training and research in the field of HPB Surgery4. Be part of the Gastrointestinal Medicine and Surgery CSU and HPB department at Manchester Royal Infirmary and supporting Trafford General HospitalThe HPB Surgery Department provides a secondary service, together with a busy tertiary service which forms a large proportion of our workload, covering a population 3.5 million.Main duties of the jobThe post carries 10 PA’s which include 8.5 fixed clinical sessions with 1.5 SPAWhich covers:Adult HPB elective operating listOut-patient clinicsPatient AdministrationTeachingContinuing Medical EducationWard round/coverOn-call cover for MRIThe job plan is subject to review with the appointee in light of the changing needs of the service and the appointee.
